Verify links and attachments BEFORE you click or open, even if you recognize and/or trust the sender. Contact your agency service desk with any concerns. Good Afternoon - With regard to the application to IPUC to raise rates for "increased operation and maintenance" costs, my vote and those I've spoken with in my neighborhood, are all a resounding "NO". The reasons for this increase are not explained or even remotely justified in the customer service notice. Where is the oversight protecting the customers from ambiguous price gouging? Not to accuse Kootenai Heights Water Systems (KHWS), but it is highly irregular and unfair to make such an enormous increase on customers without any verifiable information or reasoning. KHWS has explained no problems, no costs or needs for upgrade/repairs, no troubleshooting, competing bids, or other possible resolutions to the public for such an increase. Who regulates the water services that KHWS provides? Is it the Idaho Public Utility Commission-Title 31? Is this increased proposal covered under Title 21? Is there an applicable Kootenai city ordinance? We as the citizens of Kootenai who are already paying high inflation and costs of living deserve more than an out of the blue vague notice of an increase to our bills by 50%. Thank you for your time and consideration. Respectfully, Cameron B. Simeral -------------------------------------------------------------------------
