RE: Kootenai Heights Water System Rate Case
Dear Ms. Noriyuki,
Please find included with this letter a Rate Case spreadsheet for the Algoma Water
System. As your records will show it has been a significant time since the last rate change
for the system.
Kootenai Heights Water Company, Inc. (“Applicant”) is a Corporation duly qualified to do business in Idaho. The Applicant
provides water service to 11 residential customers in or about the city of Kootenai, ID, in Bonner County, Idaho.
Application is made to the Commission to authorize a general 49.74% increase in water rates as follows:
Increase residential flat rate from $38.50 per month to $57.65 per month.
Applicant requests that such changes in rates and charges be effective May 1, 2023. Applicant requests a test year ending
December 31, 2022. Applicant believes the increase in the rate is justified to cover expenses, such as, power, water testing,
maintenance, and other expenses to maintain and operate the water system, and to continue to provide safe and reliable
water. The Applicant has not increased rates since 2007.
Included with this Application is spreadsheet that includes Exhibit Nos. 1 through 4 and Rates.
Please let us know if there is any more information you require. Jeff Cowley from our company completed the spreadsheet
and can answer any questions or provide any more information. His email is given below as being copied on this submittal.
Sincerely,
Bob Hansen
