I want to tell you my opinion of the Island Park Water Company's service to our subdivision
in Goose Bay. We have been hooked up to their service for the past ten years. The service
was fairly good to begin with for the first five years but the last few years there have been
multiple breakdowns. Weekends without water as well as weekdays. During that period of
breakdowns David Benton was good to get Andrews Drilling or other people to come and restore
our service but the system was wearing out or was old and had multiple problems.
In 2007 they did major upgrades on both wells. Service has been much better since then.
When the upgrade was made they made the west well the primary well, which has a sulfur
smell and bad tasting water. Before the change the east well was the primary well, which is
sweet tasting and much better water. If Island park Water could make the east well our
primary well it would be a much better tasting and smelling water. also the west well is
making all our white linen turn yellow when laundered.
The system (pipes) not the wells and pumps is old and may need to be upgraded but the raise
in rates they are proposing seems extreme.
