To Customers of Island Park Water Company
An application is being prepared for filing with the Idao Public Utilties Commission (IPUC)
for approval of a rae increase of 224% for residetial service effective as soon as possible. We
are requesting tht the fee for water use be increased from $125.00 anualy to $280.00 anualy.
There has not been a rate increase since 1992 and the increase is necessa to meet increas
operating expenses, including the higher cost of Electricity, lab fees for testing water, labor and
matenal for repai and maintenance to the pumps and water lines. We fid it necessar to
increase the fees to maitain the existing system.
This application is a proposal, subject to public review and a Commission decision. A copy of the
application will be available for review at the offce of the Commission or on the IPUC web site at
ww.puc.idaho.gov. The application and other case information may be found by clickig on the
"WATER" icon, then on "OPEN WATER CASES" and scrollng down to Island Park Water.
Interested paries may mail wrtten comments to the Idao Public Utilities Commission, PO Box
83720, Boise, ID 83720-0074. Comments may be submitted by email on the IPUC web site by
clicking on the "Contact Us" lin.

(1) Be sure to KEEP a PENCIL-SIZED STREAM OF WATER RUNNING DURNG THE
WINTER to prevent costly and inconvenient freeze-ups. DO NOT TURN OFF TilS
PENCIL-SIZED STREAM OF WATER UNTIL THE GROUND IS COMPLETELY
UNROZEN IN THE SPRING.
Even though the weather warms up, the ground may be frozen as deep as 5-6 feet during
the winter and does not thaw out as soon as the weather warms up some. It takes more
tie for the ground to unthaw and the frozen ground can cause water lies to freeze.
Some people do turn this pencil sized stream of water off too soon, causing their lines to
freeze up.
THE MA CAUSE OF FREEZING WATER LINES IS PLOWING THE ROADS AN
DRIWAYS OVER THE WATER LINES. DEEP SNOW LEFT ON THE GROUND
ABOVE THE WATER LINS HELPS INSULATE THEM FROM FREZING.
The Water Company. cannot unthaw lies that freeze up in the roadways. We have to wait
for the frozen water lies to unthaw, which may be as late as June.
(2) Make sure you know where the main water shutoff valve in your house is located in the
event you have a "plumbing emergency.
TERMATION OF SERVICE
Your water service can be disconnected for:
(l) Non payment of delinquent bils
(2) Fraudulent or unauthonzed connections and use of service.
If you have any past due amount you are delinquent, and could be disconnected.
