SUBJECT: IN THE MATTER OF GEM STATE WATER COMPANY LLC’S APPLICATION
FOR AN ORDER AUTHORIZING AN INCREASE IN ITS RATES AND
CHARGES FOR WATER SERVICE IN THE STATE OF IDAHO; CASE NO.
GSW-W-22-01.
On July 21, 2022, Gem State Water Company, LLC (“Company”) filed an Application requesting
Idaho Public Utilities Commission (“Commission”) authorization to increase its rates and charges for water
service. The Company requested its Application be processed by Modified Procedure and that any changes
to its rates and charges be effective for bills rendered on or after September 1, 2022.
On September 6, 2022, the Commission issued a Notice of Application, a Notice of Intervention
Deadline, and a Notice of Suspension of the Proposed Effective Date. Order No. 35498. There were no
intervenors in this case. On October 6, 2022, the Commission issued a Notice of Modified Procedure,
setting a January 11, 2023, public comment deadline and a January 31, 2023, Company reply comment
deadline. Order No. 35548.
On November 15, 2022, the Commission Staff (“Staff”) held a public informational workshop in
Coeur ’Alene, Idaho.
COMMISSION DECISION
Does the Commission wish to issue a Notice of Public Customer Hearing providing notice that the
Commission will hold a public customer hearing Wednesday, January 18, 2023, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00
p.m., and from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Pacific Time in the gymnasium at the Athol Community Center,
30355 3rd Street, Athol, Idaho? Does the Commission wish to extend the public comment deadline to
January 20, 2023?
