Comment: "My husband and I attended the public meeting held back in November, and we would like to input our thoughts. We are good with a rate increase. We moved to our current
home from an acreage development a few miles down the road, where we paid a flat fee of$50.00 a month for water year-round. That was a newer development that served homes on 5-
acre parcels. The water was tested regularly and we had great water pressure. We also never had any outages. I felt that was a fair amount. We have a few issues with the new proposal; the
water usage is going way down, and the cost of over usage is going way up. This could be hard on everyone during dry summers to keep up a good green area for fire safety. We also
agreed that the backup power for outages needs to be set up. We are most likely not using our available usage amount during the cooler months but will be charged more for over-usage in
the warmer months, which does not seem equitable. I would be much more comfortable with a flat monthly base rate that is more than what we are paying now. This would eliminate the
need for someone to check meters monthly and easier to bill. "
