I'm a resident of Lynnwood Estates in Athol, Idaho. I understand that Gem State Water Co. isrequesting a 102 0/0 increase in our rates. I agree that the cost of gas and electric hasincreased, so they do need a small increase, but to request a 102 0/0 increase is asking toomuch. My gas and electric has also increased as well, so they are asking for too much.
I am a resident at the end of the well system so when they have the pump go down, my waterturns really brown. They say I'm responsible for the water on my property so I have added abackflow system as well a Culligan soft water system to frevent the water from getting blackor brown in my house. I feel they are also responsible for doing improvements to our system. They have collected funds from us for years to do improvements, but I have not seen or awareof any funds they have provided for any improvements. Unless they can show me what theyhave done or any filters of any kind they have installed to stop the dirty water at breakdowntimes from entering my home, I feel they are not entitled to the increase they are asking for. Please consider what I have said before granting their requested increase!

Comment: "My husband and I object wholeheartedly to the rate increase applied for by Gem State Water. They are proposing no less than a 64% increase which is obscene. The company
provides a mere 14,000 gallons per month which is barely enough to take a shower. We receive overages nearly every month for very basic usage and to increase the rate by 64% is
extremely unfair. My real property taxes have doubled this year and inflation is incredible. My husband was just forced to retire, cutting our income in half; I am still working but am now
receiving Medicare and having to pay an additional $170 per month premium in addition to my primary insurance. All these increases are going to ruin us financially and this one seems
extreme."
