The proposed allocation divides the property nearly equally between United Water Idaho and Eagle Water Co. About five parcels are divided, with United Water gaining about 117 primarily residential properties and Eagle Water 104 properties.   The land is bounded roughly by North Horseshoe Bend Road on the west and Dodgin Avenue on the east. The northern boundary is near West Hill Road Parkway and the southern boundary is West State Street.   After a workshop conducted by commission staff in late 2004, there was an informal stay of proceedings to allow the two companies time to negotiate a proposed split of the area. The proposed allocation would allow potential customers to be able to obtain service from the utility closest to their location thus minimizing line extension charges for customers.   United Water Idaho serves about 80,000 households in Boise and the surrounding area. Eagle Water, NOT the same as the City of Eagle’s municipal water service, serves about 2,500 households in and around the City of Eagle.   The commission is handling the case by written comment and is particularly interested to hear from customers of both companies in and immediately surrounding the areas proposed for allocation.   Those wishing to submit comments must do so by no later than Feb. 9. Comments are accepted via e-mail by accessing the commission’s homepage at http://www.puc.idaho.gov/www.puc.idaho.gov and clicking on "Comments & Questions."
