Comment: "I'm wring to oppose the proposed rate increase by Falls Water. I understand that costs go
up, but 37-55% increase is excessive and unreasonable. Our lane was recently connected to Falls Water.
We expected our rates to go up some, as we would more have meters, instead of our community well. I
don't know that we would have voted to give up the water rights for our well, had this large of an
increase been presented. We are all for being careful with our water and think a higher rate for overuse
can be jusfied and perhaps a much lesser increase in the base rate. Please reconsider this proposal."

Comment: "To whom it may concern,
Out of the 19,000 gallons my current monthly bill of roughly $25 allows me to use, according to the
documents I receive every month, I only use around 1,000 every month.
Given that I only use around 5% of what my subscripon allows, I view extremely negavely a 40%
increase in the bill. If the fees are to increase at such an indecent rate, I would request that at least a
more reasonable low water volume opon should be offered, with a constant or reduced fee, to spare
the increase for those with a moderate water usage.
In any case, 40% increase is around 32% higher than inflaon. This is sorely unjusfied and very
surprising. This request for a price hike raises quesons. The current fee was already paying for
maintenance of our infrastructure, and part of the infrastructure is always aging, this is nothing new. This
demand likely means that maintenance needs have been neglected for years, with a budget 40% or so
2
too low. I believe the Idaho Public Ulies Commission should request an evaluaon of our water
infrastructure in Idaho Falls to understand whether the requested price hike is genuine or ed to years of
neglect of the infrastructure.
Best regards,"

Comment: "I believe the Falls Water rate increase is based on things that customers do not have a
responsibility to pay for. Why should we, as customers, have to pay for their office building and land
($924,000), water rights ($738,450), distribuon projects ($630,871), and office furniture ($264,974)?
This needs to be looked into closely to protect customers dependent on their water delivery service.
Local government is the only one with enough power to do this. Thank you. Bob McPherson"

Comment: "I have lived at this locaon since 2016 and Falls Water Co. has been raising rates every year. I
understand the need for more infrastructure. I don't think the rate increase of 47.3% is jusfied. The
county needs to make adjustments for the influx of people moving to the area. The real estate
developments are driving up prices on homes and ulies. They should be responsible for providing
funds for infrastructure before they add addional subdivisions in the surrounding areas. The roads are
over congested, water and sewer are strained, next will be the power infrastructure that will need
upgraded. "
