It appears to me that Falls Water is expanding their water system and placing the burden of that expansion on the homes that have been here for decades instead of charging the new construcon for that expansion. Falls Waters connecon fees are only $500 compared to our neighboring City of Iona which is $6944 and the City of Idaho Falls which is $2944. A new private residenal well and pump in our area could cost around $30,000. Most of the new construcon in the Idaho Falls area appears to be in Falls Water's district. Their low connecon fee likely contributes to contractors desire to build here. They should be the ones paying for the expansion of the water system through higher connecon fees. It is unfair for Falls Water to atract new construcon to gain more customers while passing the cost of expanding to current customers." ------------------------------------------------------------- The following comments were submited via PUCWeb: Name: Rick Carter Submission Time: Jun 5 2023 5:01PM Email: Seahawksman3@gmail.com Telephone: 208-390-2321 Address: 207 s emery ln Idaho falls, ID 83401 Name of Ulity Company: Falls water Co. I can understand a 15% or 20% increase but a 55% increase is ridiculous." ------------------------------------------------------------- 2 Name: Amy Moore Submission Time: Jun 5 2023 6:22PM Email: awmooreaz@hotmail.com Telephone: 801-699-9208 Address: 3443 N Baldwin Ave. Idaho Falls, ID 83401 Name of Ulity Company: Falls Water Co. Case ID: FLS-W-23-01 Comment: "ID We appreciate the hardworking people at Falls Water and know everyone is trying to keep up with the economy and growth here. However, It fees very discriminatory the way the increase is presented. Is there another way? Who made this decision and why? Why not have a flat rate increase for all, and the people who use more water pay more. Or charge more for those who water when it’s the hotest part of the day verses those who water early in the morning or late at night. Also educate people on water conservaon. A few neighborhoods should not be punished because you need more money. We all have a responsibility to carry the load. I can understand the need for an increase I cannot understand the difference in the increase of the percentage rates . Please reconsider and do something that is fair to all! Thank you for allowing us to have a say. I can understand an increase to meet inflaonary pressures, but this percentage increase is way out of line. Please do not approve this!" -------------------------------------------------------------
