NEWS RELEASE UPDATE: Telephonic public hearing scheduled in proposed acquisition of
eastern Idaho water company
BOISE (Sept. 30,2020) - The Idaho Public Utilities Commission is hosting a telephonic hearing
to take public testimony regarding an application from Falls Water Co. to acquire the assets of
the Moming View Water Company.
Falls Water, which is regulated by the Idaho Public Utilities Commission, has operated a water
system near Idaho Falls since 1958, and seryes about 5,500 customers. Falls Water also is a
subsidiary of NW Natural Water of Idaho, LLC, which through its parent companies is owned by
NW Natural Holdings. Morning View also is regulated by the commission, and serves
approximately 118 residential customers in and around Rigby.
Under the proposed acquisition, Falls Water would acquire and operate the Morning View water
system. In addition, Falls Water is not requesting any change to rates or rate structure at this
time.
On Wednesday, Oct. 7,the commission is hosting a telephonic public hearing at 6:00 p.m.
(MDT) to allow those interested in the proposed acquisition to formally submit testimony.
Participation can be accomplished by calling l-800-920-7487 and entering 6674832# when
prompted. Those planning on testiffing are encouraged to start calling in to the hearing at 5:30
p.m. (MDT) on Oct. 7. In the interest of public health and safety, and consistent with guidance
from both the CDC and Central District Health regarding mitigation of exposure to Covid-19, the
hearing will be telephonic only.
To identifr callers and manage the hearing efficiently, those interested in testifoing are
encouraged to contact Adam Rush at adam.rush@puc.idaho.gov or call l-208-334-0339 and
provide their name and the telephone number they will be calling in on. Please provide this
information no later than 4:00 p.m. (MDT) on Wednesday, Oct. 7,2020. Additional callers will
not be prohibited from testiffing, but will be accommodated after the identified callers have
testified.
Written comments on the proposed acquisition are being accepted until Oct. 15,2020.To
comment by e-mail, please visit www.puc.idaho.gov. Click on the "Consumers" tab, then "Case
Comment Form" and complete the form using case number FLS-W-20-04. Comments sent via e-
mail must also be e-mailed to Falls Water at the e-mail addresses listed below.
