Telephonic hearing, online public workshop scheduled in proposed acquisition of eastern Idaho
water company
BOISE (Sept. '1.6,2020) - The Idaho Public Utilities Commission is hosting a telephonic public
hearing and Commission staff will host an online public workshop to share information
regarding an application from Falls Water Co. to acquire the assets of the Morning View Water
Company.
Falls Water, which is regulated by the Idaho Public Utilities Commission, has operated a water
system near Idaho Falls since 1958, and serves about 5,500 customers. Falls Water also is a
subsidiary of NW Natural Water of Idaho, LLC, which through its parent companies is owned by
NW Natural Holdings. Morning View also is regulated by the commission, and serves
approximately 118 residential customers in and around Rigby.
Under the proposed acquisition, Falls Water would acquire and operate the Morning View water
system. In addition, Falls Water is not requesting any change to rates or rate structure at this
time.
Those interested in the proposed acquisition can attend an online public workshop on
Wednesday, Sept. 30, starting at 6:00 p.m. (MDT).The workshop will provide customers with an
overview of the application and commission staff s analysis of how Falls Water's acquisition of
Morning View's water system will impact each company's customers. During the workshop,
commission staffwill be available to answer questions and explain how customers may
participate in future proceedings. Falls Water representatives also will be available to answer
questions.
The commission is located at 11331 W. Chinden Boulevard, Building 8, Suite 201-A. Because of
health concerns regarding Covid-l9, the public is encouraged to participate through the online
workshop instead of in person.
Those interested can participate by calling 1-415-655-0001, and entering access code 133 427
6105. Participation also can be done online by visiting idahogov.webex.com and entering 133
427 6105. At the next window, participants will be asked to enter their name, e-mail address and
the password WednesdayHearing.
On Wednesday, Oct. 7, the commission is hosting a telephonic hearing at 6:00 p.m. (MDT) to
allow those interested in the proposed acquisition to formally submit testimony. Testimony can
be submitted by calling 1-800-920-7487 and entering 6674832# when prompted. Those planning
on testifring are encouraged to start calling in to the hearing at 5:30 p.m. (MDT) on Oct. 7.
To identiff callers and manage the hearing efficiently, those interested in testifuing are
encouraged to contact Adam Rush at adam.rush@puc.idaho.gov or call l-208-334-0339 and
provide their name and the telephone number they will be calling in on. Please provide this
information no later than 4:00 p.m. (MDT) on Wednesday, Oct. 7,2020. Additional callers will
not be prohibited from testifuing, but will be accommodated after the identified callers have
testified.
Written comments on the proposed acquisition are being accepted until Oct. 15,2020.To
