BEFORE THE IDAHO PUBLIC UTILITIES COMMISSION
On June 30, 2020, Falls Water Company, Inc. (“Company”) filed an Application
requesting authorization to raise the rates it charges for water service, effective August 15, 2020.
The Company asks the Commission to review its Application under the Commission’s Rules of
Modified Procedure (IDAPA 31.01.01.01.201 - .204).
The Commission now issues this Notice of Application and Notice of Suspension of
Proposed Effective Date.
NOTICE OF APPLICATION
YOU ARE HEREBY NOTIFIED that the Company is a wholly owned subsidiary of
NW Natural Water Company, LLC, which itself is a wholly owned subsidiary of NW Natural
Holdings Company, which was created during a corporate reorganization of Northwest Natural
Gas Company and its affiliates. As of December 31, 2019, the Company serves 5,545 customers.
YOU ARE FURTHER NOTIFIED that the Company states its proposed rate increase
would increase Company revenues by $344,175 (19.12%). The Company proposes to increase its
water rates as follows:

The Company states its proposed changes would increase customers average bills by rate class as
follows:
YOU ARE FURTHER NOTIFIED that the Commission last approved an increase to
the Company’s basic rates and charges in October 2012. Order No. 32663.
YOU ARE FURTHER NOTIFIED that the procedure and timeline to process this case
will be determined later.
YOU ARE FURTHER NOTIFIED that the Application is available for public
inspection during regular business hours at the Commission’s office. These documents are also
available on the Commission’s web site at www.puc.idaho.gov. Click on the “Water” icon, then
select “Open Cases” and click on the case number as shown on the front of this document.
YOU ARE FURTHER NOTIFIED that all proceedings in this case will be held
pursuant to the Commission’s jurisdiction under Title 61 of the Idaho Code and specifically Idaho
Code §§ 61-502 and 61-503. The Commission may enter any final Order consistent with its
authority under Title 61.
YOU ARE FURTHER NOTIFIED that all proceedings in this matter will be conducted
pursuant to the Commission’s Rules of Procedure, IDAPA 31.01.01.000 et seq.

YOU ARE FURTHER NOTIFIED that, given the public interest in having adequate
time to comment on this case, the Commission finds it appropriate to suspend the Company’s
proposed effective date of August 15, 2020, for 30 days plus 5 months, unless the Commission
issues an earlier Order accepting, rejecting, or modifying the Company’s Application. See Idaho
Code § 61-622(4).
O R D E R
IT IS HEREBY ORDERED that the Company’s proposed August 15, 2020, effective
date is suspended for 30 days plus 5 months, unless the Commission issues an earlier Order
accepting, rejecting, or modifying the Application. See Idaho Code § 61-622(4).
IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that parties should continue to comply with Order No.
34602, issued March 17, 2020. All pleadings should be filed with the Commission electronically
and shall be deemed timely filed when received by the Commission Secretary. See Rule 14.02.
Service between parties should also be accomplished electronically. Voluminous discovery-related
documents may be filed and served on CD-ROM or a USB flash drive.
