I am disgusted at the manner in which Falls Water has proposed to increase their rates. As a
business owner, I understand that cost increase but to blatantly lie to their customers is
absurd. The letter that Falls Water mailed to their customers indicates the average
residential customer would pay about $4 more per month is totally misleading. I would have'
probably been okay with that until I reviewed the application that actually spells out the
rate increase. To receive the water we currently pay for, our rates would jump from $16.1ß to
$63. ßß/month. This does not even include the additional $5ß/month most of us pay to keep our
lawns and gardens green and healthy in the summer. This rate increase would push most
residential customer's rates well over $lßß/month during the summer months.
I am glad the commission has seen the need to postpone this rate increase until the fall and
hope they take a serious look at the actual operating costs of the water company. I am glad
there have been many that have looked into this further and actually reviewed the
application. Thank you for your time and efforts to provide FAIR rates to all of us.
