I am receiving a small pension and an increase of 26% on my water bill would push me over
the edge financially. Falls Water received a rate increase over a year ago, so why do they
need another one? A 26% rate increase is totally out of line. They also plan on decreasing
the amount of water allowed before higher rates kick in. If the 26% rate increase is
approved, I will turn off all my water for outside irrigation and let the lawn and trees go
dead. I don' t have any choice, I can' t pay the inflated water rates. Just for your
information, Las Vegas increased their water rates, but it was for only 19%. What
justification does a rural water utility have for a 26% rate increase? A lot of people, not
only myself will not be able to afford these excessive water bill increases.
