BACKGROUND With this Application,the Company proposes to increase its metered rates and reduce the included maximum gallons allowed as follows: Meter Size Current Rate Proposed Rate %Change 3/4”or smaller $16.10 for up to 12,000 gallons $19.18 for up to 5,000 gallons 19.1%increase 1”$26.85 for up to 7,000 gallons 19.2%increase I V2”$28.98 for up to 22,000 gallons $34.52 for up to 9,000 gallons 19.1%increase 2”rogllons 19.1 %increase 4”$66.01 for up to 49,000 gallons $78.64 for up to 20,000 gallons 19.1%increase Commodity Rate per 1,000 gallons $0.61 I $0.67 9.7%increase Id.at 2 and 4.The Company says the average 3/4”metered-customer’s bill will increase 26.8%;the average 1”metered-customer’s bill will increase 24.3%;the average 1 1/2”metered-customer’s bill will increase 26.1%;the average 2”metered-customer’s bill will increase 27.8%;and the average 4” metered-customer’s bill will increase 28.1%.Id.at 4-5.The Company says its proposal decreases the ratio of base charges from 66%to 65%and increases the ratio of commodity charges from 34% to 35%.Id.at 5.The Company also says the proposed rate design will produce $1,407,749.70 in NOTICE OF PUBLIC WORKSHOP NOTICE OF MODIFIED PROCEDURE NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ORDER NO.32487 revenues,which is within $78.59 of the $1,407,671 .11 revenue requirement.and that the average customer’s bill will increase by 26.8%.Id. In Order No.32467.the Commission issued a Notice of Application,set a March 7. 2012 intervention deadline,and suspended the Company’s proposed rates for a period of 30 days plus five months.No one petitioned for intervention.Accordingly,the only parties to the case are the Company and Staff. Pursuant to the Commission’s direction.Staff and the Company reached agreement on how the case should be processed and on a proposed schedule.The parties recommended that the rate case be processed under Modified Procedure with the Commission holding a public hearing in Idaho Falls.The parties proposed and we adopt the following schedule. Action Date Public workshop in Idaho Falls April 10,2012 Staff comments due June 15,2012 Falls Water reply comments due .lune 29.2012 Public hearing in Idaho Falls July 10.2012 NOTICE OF PUBLIC WORKSHOP YOU ARE HEREBY NOTIFIED that Commission Staff will hold a public workshop for the Company’s customers.The purpose of the public workshop is to provide customers with an overview of the Company’s proposed rate increase and dispense information.At the workshop,customers will have an opportunity to ask questions of Staff regarding the Company’s rate case.Representatives of the Company may also be available.Staff will hold its public workshop on TUESDAY,APRIL 10,2012 AT 7:00 P.M.AT THE AMMON CITY COUNCIL CHAMBERS,2135 S.AMMON ROAD,AMMON,ID 83406.
