On August 4, 2009, Falls Water Company filed an Application for authority to
increase its total revenue requirement by $143 496., or 14.39%. On September 2, 2009, the
Commission issued a Notice of Application, set a deadline for intervention, and suspended the
Company s proposed September 10, 2009, effective date. Order No. 30893. No persons
petitioned to intervene. On September 16, 2009, the Commission issued a Notice of Public
Workshop and Notice of Modified Procedure setting a deadline for comments to be filed no later
than October 7 2009. Order No. 30899.
On September 30, 2009, Commission Staff filed a motion to suspend the October 7
comment deadline. Staff explained that they would be unable to adequately audit and review the
Company s Application prior to October 7. Staff requested that the comment deadline be
suspended "until such time as Staff can informally meet with the Company, establish a feasible
schedule for the processing of this case, and present the schedule for Commission approval."
Based upon our review of Staffs motion and after consideration of the time necessary
to properly audit and review a general rate case, the Commission finds it reasonable to suspend
the comment deadline previously set by Order No. 30899 until the parties meet to develop an
appropriate case schedule to be presented to the Commission for approval.
ORDER
IT IS HEREBY ORDERED that the October 7, 2009, comment deadline is
suspended until such time as a case schedule is presented to the Commission for approval.
