This will result in an outside company controlling local water with risks of rate increases and reduction in water quality. This has the potential and dynamics that created the Flint Michigan water crisis. There's no reason to take those kind of risks with a thriving, beautiful, and growing community like Eagle. Let's make sure Eagle Water is managed by people who live in the same community. Thank you for your consideration." ------ From:PUC Consumer Comments To:Jan Noriyuki Subject:Notice: A comment was submitted to PUCWeb Date:Thursday, October 28, 2021 3:00:09 PM The following comment was submitted via PUCWeb: Name: Linda Kennedy Submission Time: Oct 28 2021 2:21PMEmail: joelindakenn789@gmail.com Telephone: 208-869-9796Address: 2322 N. Stonecrest Place Eagle, ID 83616 Name of Utility Company: Eagle Water Company Case ID: EAG-W-18-01 Comment: "I am writing to implore the Idaho Public Utilities to deny the application for the sale of Eagle Water Company to Suez Water Company. This sale is clearly not in the public interest. Eagle Water Company provides pristine water to its customer base in Eagle. Suez has always been clear that it intends to ship EWC's water (reportedly to be mixed with Boise river water and chemically treated) to any/all of its existing customers, including a large project northeast and non-contiguous with current city limits called Avimor, that the current city council is pressing to annex to Eagle. It is important to note that the City of Eagle had a right of first refusal to purchase EWC, however a lawsuit by the city of Eagle to exercise that ROFR was withdrawn by the current city council, without benefit of any public input, in order to enable the sale to Suez. Suez has a poor reputation for water quality and customer service. To sell Eagle's pure, high quality water to an overseas entity such as Suez, thereby losing local control over a local resource, is clearly not in the public interest. Please deny Suez's application to purchase Eagle Water Company and allow Eagle residents continued access to and control over Eagle's water. Thank you. Linda Kennedy Eagle, ID" ------
