Diamond Bar Water Co. (Robert Turnipseed, et al) wants to recover recent operating costsfor improvements totals of $13,411. They propose a rate increase of 87.4%. I strongly
oppose this outrageous increase to recover the entire investment in one years rateincrease. These improvements were forseen, should come from current rate fees and/or
should be amortized out over several future years. If the proposed rate increase for the
base monthly rate is approved, the company would totally recover these investments in less
than one year, but the high rate would continue. The rate increase for water usage over
the base increasing from 45 cents to 52 cents per thousand gallons is a 16% increase.This is also an outrageous one-time increase which I oppose. A modest 5 to 6% increasewould be more reasonable. I do not obj ect to the ' new-customer ' hook up fee increase.Thank you for accepting my comments.
