RE: Request to raise base rate $12.50/mo.

Curently, the water rates for the Brian Water Corp. are $17.50 per month base for the
first 4000 gallons and $1.51 per 1000 gallons per month above the 4000 gallons.
I am requesting that the base rate be raised another $ 12.50/month. The purose of this
increase is to pay for 'Nitrate Mitigation' as ordered by the EPAIEQ.
The nitrate levels in the wells of the Brian Water Corporation this past year have risen
above the EPA's maximum contamination level (MCL) of 1O.0/mg/. The most recent water
sample showed levels of 12.2 mg/L but have been as high as 15.0 mg/. Consequently, I am
ordered to star the process to solve the issue. The first step is to hire an engineer to do an
analysis and make recommendations to the DEQ. (One engineers price quote was up to $20,000)
We already know that a new, deeper well is the only viable solution. Estimated cost for one well
with pump is $30,000. The base rate add-on with be used solely for payments to an engineer
and payments on a loan for the welL.
I'm asking for an effective date of April 2012.
