After reviewing the report sent to me by the utili ties commission, I am very disappointed. I
feel that the commission did not listen to the citizens at all. After reading the report I
have determined that my neighbors and I wasted our time attending meetings. If the commission
wants public participation maybe they should listen to the citizens. There are no con sessions
made and only statements that imply the citizens waste water. I have a very hard time with
the statement that we need to conserve water. We are the ones shoveling snow throughout the
winter. There maybe are some things that we could do better, but do not assume that everyone
is wasting water. I have a large family and when you have a large family, showers provide a
significant water usage and laundry. I have energy efficient, instant on water heaters that
only heat the water that is used and efficient updated toilets, and updated front loader
washers. I have made many updates on the home that was constructed by Avondale Construction.
Including installing insulation in the home as I had none in the bottom 4 feet of the house.
During the summer I provide housing to other teens and my home is always available to kids,
thus more showers and laundry. The rate increases in this economy are excessive. What company
is able to receive an 82% increase at this time? Only one that can get approval by the
government. I assume that this is another waste of time, but I contest the increases. Also,
no where in the report does it give a phone number or a place to state my case. I hope that I
filled out the correct paperwork.
