What is the average usage per household in the Bar Circle S rate area and what is the Business average. Traditionally business rates are higher as it is an operating expense. i. Consumption usage should be reviewed to determine whether the 19 year old 1st 7,500 gallons should be increased to a more realistic figure. 19 years ago there were very few homes in this area. Our household usage consists of two people, one small dog, lawn watering 3 times a week during summer and drip lines to our potted vegetables and drought tolerant plants. My average use over 7 months is 35,500 gallons. My new rate will be approx. $91.16 in comparison to $41.60. This new billing will be higher than my gas bill is for 5 months out of the year Jun-Oct. 3. The BCS income statement shows $106,354.00 if divided by 160 customers it i s $664.71 per customer. Di vide $664.71 by 12 months and it costs $55.39 per cust. per month. Based on the figures, the assumption is to raise the rates so the company can begin to make a profit. Is 100% profit reasonable for water at this time, when the economy is in such turmoil. According to previous info, the water company began installing new technology to existing meters in an effort to reduce labor costs. Once all meters have been equipped, will the meters be read 12 months out of the year or as they are now 6 to 7 months per year? When will all meters be fitted? and, when will the new meter reading method be implemented. The form submitted on http://www.puc.idaho.gov/forms/ipucl/ipuc.html IP address is 76.178.179.75 i
