Bar Circle "5" Water Company has filed an application with the Idaho Public Utilti~~UBL\(~
Commission to increase its rates for water service by 119%. The compan'\tRa~ CiMlS;lON
rates for water service in 19 years. The Company has been operating at a loss and has filed the
case in order to continue providing quality service to our customers. The Company has asked
for an August I, 2009 effective date.
The Company proposes to increase its monthly basic rate for the first 7,500 gallons of water
from $15.00 to $32.92 and increase the rate for consumption over 7,500 gallons per month
from $0.95 per thousand gallons per month to $2.08. The Company proposes to increase its
fire protection rates for private fire hydrants from $9.50 per month to $20.85 and fire sprinkler
connections from $48.13 per month to $105.62.
Bar Circle "5" is also proposing to update its non-recurring charges for reconnection fees,
returned check charges, after hour service calls and new customer initial connection fees to
recover the companýs current costs for these activities.
The application is available for review at the Companýs offce located at 2953 N. Government
Way in Coeur d Alene. The application is also available for review on the Idaho Public Utilties
