The Commission regulates Idaho's investor-owned utilities, ensuring adequate service and reasonable rates. The Commission is made up of three commissioners appointed by the Governor. The Commission makes the decisions in each case. Commission Staff is made up of Auditors, Consumer Advocates, Engineers & Technical Analysts. Commission Staff is a party in all filed cases and provides comments and recommendations to the Commissioners. IDAHO PUBLIC UTILITIES COMMISSION PARTICIPATION BACKGROUND Picabo Water System •First system installed in the early 1900s. •Storage tank installed in 1917. Original is still used today. •Company currently serves: •35 Residential Customers •4 Commercial Customers APPLICATION COMPANY REQUEST: •Filed March 8, 2021 •Requesting the Commission issue an order authorizing an increase in Revenue and Rates. APPLICATION Why File for a rate Increase? •Rates have not been adjusted since 2004. •Upgrades to the system have not been captured or embedded into current rates. •A new well is needed for redundancy. •Resetting rates allows the Company to continue to offer safe and reliable water. APPLICATION Why File for a rate Increase? •Company investing into the water system. •Water System needs: •Secondary well. •Main line and valves. •Upkeep of the Storage Tank.
