HomeMy WebLinkAboutgrant_dh.doc June 27, 2000 VIA FED EX Ron Grant Bureau of Land Management #1 Butte Drive (Rt. 3–Box 181) Cottonwood, ID 83522 RE: Ownership of the Camas Prairie Right-of-Way Dear Ron, Pursuant to our telephone conversation today, I have enclosed for your information several document pertaining to the Camas Prairie right-of-way (ROW). First, you will find on what is marked page 112 the March 1, 1899 Act granting the Railroad the right-of-way across the Nez Perce Indian Reservation. Second, I have enclosed for your review the Railroad’s appraisal done by Kenneth Young. As indicated on pages 48 and 49 the gross “across the fence” value of the property was estimated to be $1.3 million. Page 50 shows that the Railroad anticipates selling all of its property it owns “in fee” over a five-year period with sales expenses equaling $15,600 per year. Page 50 also shows you the discount rate for the total of net present value of $839,074. Next you will find enclosed a copy of the signature page for the verified statement. Finally, I have copied two “Schedule of Property” tables from the first two pages of the Railroad’s valuation maps. Noted at parcel No. 1 which was granted by the United States was based on the Act of March 3, 1875.
