Re: Change in Trail User Entity for the Abandoned Camas Prairie Line (Grangeville to
Spaulding)

Dear Commissioners:

Enclosed for your information is a copy of a recent filing made by the Camas Prairie Railroad made with the U.S. Surface Transportation Board (STB). In its Petition, Camas Prairie notified the STB of its intent to replace the “trail user” entity for the abandoned 66-mile line running from Grangeville to Spaulding. A “trail user” is the entity that accepts financial responsibility for managing and operating the trail right-of-way. Camas Prairie’s Petition notes that the Camas Prairie Trail Conservancy is transferring control of the trail (i.e., the abandoned right-of-way) to a new entity, the BG&CM Railroad, effective December 17, 2002.
