HomeMy WebLinkAboutReid_dh.doc March 22, 2000 Dr. Ken Reid State Historical Preservation Officer Idaho Historical Society 210 Main Street Boise, ID 83702 Re: Abandonment of Camas Prairie’s Grangeville-Spalding Line Dear Dr. Reid: Pursuant to our telephone conversation this morning, I have enclosed for your review additional data indicating the age of the bridges on the Spalding-Grangeville line (referred to in the document as the Second Subdivision). Although the table information does not “line up” exactly, the 43 structures on the bridge list were all originally constructed in 1908. The dates to the left of 1908 reflect the dates that the structures were periodically rebuilt or refurbished. The first number on each line represents the mile post location in an easterly direction starting from Spalding to Grangeville. If the Historical Society intends to respond to the Railroad’s draft Environmental and Historical Report, I would like to review your comments before they are submitted to the Railroad or the U.S. Surface Transportation Board.
