RE: Contract Amendment

Dear Ed,

In your recent letter of October 13, 2000, you asked whether the Commission could increase your contract amount. As pointed out in your letter, you did perform additional work which resulted in your total billing exceeding the maximum contract amount for compensation.

After discussing this matter with the Commission, I am pleased to report that the Commission has consented to increase the total amount of compensation reflected in the contract by $536.25. Although this amount will not completely cover your bill, it does provide some additional compensation. The Commission and the State spent more than $110,000 prosecuting this case and consultant funds were extremely tight. I am pleased that additional funds can be made available to you.

Please sign the attached contract increasing the amount of compensation and retain one copy for your files. You may forward the other to the Commission at which time it will execute the final payment. If you have any questions, you can call the Commission’s Executive Administrator Ron Law at [phone] because I will be out of the country next week. I will return to the office on November 14, 2000.
