GNR.U-22.04 PETITION The Staff ofthe Idaho Public Utilities Commission ("Staff'), petitions the Idaho Public Utilities Commission ("Commission") for an order updating the Commission's Safety and Accident Rules. In support of its Petition, Staff states: L BACKGROUND On June 30, 2021, the Commission adopted Safety and Accident Reporting Rules (previously IDAPA 3 1.1 1 .01) by order instead of promulgating the rule chapters under the Idaho Administrative Procedures Act. See Order No. 35095. Recently, the Commission has stated its desire to amend the "Fatality and HospitalizationReporting" requirements in Safety and Accident Reporting Rule 301.01 to require regulated utilities to notifr the Commission Secretary by telephone and email within 24 hours of a fatality or hospitalization. II. PROCEDTIRE Staff believes that a hearing is not necessary to consider the issues and requests that this Petition be processed under Modified Procedure; i.e., by wriffen submissions rather than by hearing. See Commission Rule of Procedure 201, et seq. ) ) ) ) ) 1PETITION III.
