RE:QWEST ADVICES 03-05-S AND 03-11-N TO ADD ENGINEERING
ESTIMATES FOR CONSTRUCTION CHARGES, EFFECTIVE 10/17/03
Qwest has submitted this tariff advice to propose the provision of a detailed engineering
quote to customers requesting construction for facilities in northern and southern Idaho. Qwest
will provide the first engineering quote at no charge and it will be valid for six months, but if the
customer requires subsequent quotes, the fee will be $300 per quote. The fee will be credited to
the customer s account when the customer notifies Qwest to begin construction, but will not be
returned if the customer does not accept the quotation.
Additionally, Qwest proposes to add a paragraph in the southern Idaho tariff that holds
developers responsible for the cost to provide at least one pair per lot in housing developments.
Qwest says
, "
the charge would originate at the nearest point of capacity. . . and terminate at the
point of feed for the development."
STAFF RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends approval of these Tariff Advices effective October 17 2003. Does the
Commission agree?
