CASE NO. INT-G-23-01
ORDER NO. 35918
On May 5, 2023, Intermountain Gas Company (“Company”) filed Tariff Advice No. 23-
02 (“Tariff Advice”), proposing a revision to General Service Provisions, Section C, Sheet 3 of
the Company’s gas tariff. The proposed revision would eliminate abandonment of company-
owned gas facilities as an event triggering a charge to the customer abandoning the facilities.
Subsequently, the Commission issued a Notice of Application and Notice of Modified Procedure,
converting the Tariff Advice into Case No. INT-G-23-01 and setting comment deadlines.
On August 15, 2023, the Commission issued Order No. 35890, approving the Application
and ordering the Company to (1) supplement the Company’s gas tariff with additional language
clarifying the difference between “relocation” and “abandonment,” (2) update the tariff so only
relocation will continue as an event triggering a charge imposed upon a customer, and (3) file a
revised tariff consistent with these mandates.
On August 18, 2023, the Company submitted a Compliance Filing with the revised tariff
for Section C of the Company’s General Service Provisions for Residential and Commercial
Customers (“Revised Tariff”) in compliance with Order No. 35890.1 Commission Staff reviewed
the filing and, at the Commission’s September 5, 2023, decision meeting, recommended that the
Commission accept the filing effective on the service date of the final compliance order.
COMMISSION FINDINGS AND DECISION
The Commission has jurisdiction over the Company’s Application and the issues in this
case under Title 61 of the Idaho Code including Idaho Code §§ 61-301 through 303. The
Commission is empowered to investigate rates, charges, rules, regulations, practices, and contracts
of all public utilities and to determine whether they are just, reasonable, preferential,
discriminatory, or in violation of any provisions of law, and to fix the same by order. Idaho Code
§§ 61-501 through 503.
1 The Company resubmitted revised tariffs on August 23, 2023, and August 29, 2023, at the request of Commission
Staff to ensure that the Tariffs have the correct effective dates.
ORDER NO. 35918 2
Having reviewed the record and the Company’s submission, the Commission finds that the
Company has complied with the Commission’s Order No. 35890 to make a compliance filing with
respect to the revised version of the General Service Provisions, Section C, Sheet 3 of the
Company’s gas tariff.
ORDER
IT IS HEREBY ORDERED that the Company’s Compliance Filing is accepted, effective
the service date of this Order.
THIS IS A FINAL ORDER. Any person interested in this Order may petition for
reconsideration within twenty-one (21) days of the service date upon this Order regarding any
matter decided in this Order. Within seven (7) days after any person has petitioned for
reconsideration, any other person may cross-petition for reconsideration. Idaho Code §§ 61-626.
