WAITING INDICATORS AND A V ALUECHOICE PACKAGE TO
RESIDENTIAL CUSTOMERS EFFECTIVE AUGUST 18,2003
With this filing, Qwest introduces Message Waiting Indication with three options -
Audible, Visual or AudibleNisuai. This service is linked to the subscriber s Message Delivery
Service Provider so that when the message service provider has a message for the Qwest
subscriber, the Qwest subscriber will be notified audibly, visually or both (determined by the
customers subscription). The message service provider must subscribe to Qwest's Message
Delivery Service in order to provide this feature. The customer must provide a visual device to
display the signal. Qwest will charge a nonrecurring charge of $7.00 for residential and $11.
for business customers, and a monthly rate of$0.05 and $0., respectively.
Additionally, Qwest introduces a new package that will be marketed as ValueChoice to
residential customers. The package includes a Flat-Rate Residential Line and several standard
features, as listed below, and will be offered for $24.99 per month:
Anonymous Call Rejection
Call Forwarding Variable
Call Waiting or Call Waiting ill
Caller ill - Name and Number
Long Distance Alert
Three-Way Calling

Qwest has enhanced its Call Waiting service to provide different tones to distinguish
between local and long distance calls in the initial ring cycle as well as in the call-waiting mode.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends approval of Tariff Advice 03-05-N to be effective August 18 2003.
