Comment: "RE case INT-G-22-08: I am a geologist and commodities trader. As we enter a significant recession in 2023, oil and natural gas prices are crashing. Specifically, from the
brief spike-high price of 9.75 on August 23, 2022, natgas has crashed -65.9% to 3.32 on Jan 10, 2023. Intermountain Gas is taking advantage of that temporary price spike to seek a rate
hike of 17.1% and the PUC is smart enough to see that, and deny that request, from the following chart (see https://ycharts.com/indicators/henry_hub_natural_gas_spot_price )"

Comment: "This will be the second rate increase submitted in December of last year submitted by Intermountain Gas. The first was INT-G-22-07 which raises the monthly minimum charge
from $5.50 per month to $9.50 per month submitted on 12.01/22, an increase of 60%. Then on 12/27/22, INT-G-22-08 was submitted requesting an Interim Purchased Cost of Gas
adjustment, an increase in 16.6%. What does the term "Interim" mean in this context? Does it mean that the Therm rate will fluctuate with the market price of natural gas in the futures
market? On Dec 27th. when the=is application was submitted, the futures price for natural gas was $4.475. Down from a peak of $9.336 on 08/15/22. Today, the futures price is $3.681. The
long term average for Natural Gas between $5.57 on 12/09 and 1.640 on 03/20. Since 12/21, the price of gas has been artificially high due to extenuating circumstances. As these
circumstances fade, the price of gas should return to its historical range of $5 - $2 per BTU. Will this interim increase follow along with decreases as well as increases in the price of
natural gas? Or is it just another increase in the cost of living one bite at a time that makes living here increasingly unaffordable because of corporate greed? "
