HomeMy WebLinkAbout20230221Decision Memo.pdfDECISION MEMORANDUM 1 DECISION MEMORANDUM TO: COMMISSIONER ANDERSON COMMISSIONER HAMMOND COMMISSIONER LODGE COMMISSION SECRETARY COMMISSION STAFF LEGAL FROM: CLAIRE SHARP DEPUTY ATTORNEY GENERAL DATE: FEBRUARY 21, 2023 SUBJECT: IN THE MATTER OF INTERMOUNTAIN GAS COMPANY’S APPLICATION FOR AUTHORITY TO INCREASE ITS RATES AND CHARGES FOR NATURAL GAS SERVICE IN THE STATE OF IDAHO; CASE NO. INT-G-22-07 On December 1, 2022, Intermountain Gas Company (“Company”), applied for authority to increase its rates and charges for natural gas service in the State of Idaho, effective on or after January 1, 2023. On December 21, 2022, the Commission issued a Notice of Application, Notice of Suspension of Proposed Effective Date, and Notice of Intervention Deadline. Order No. 35640. Alliance of Western Energy Consumers (“AWEC”), Idaho Conservation League (“ICL”), and Boise City intervened. Order Nos. 35653, 35662, and 35664. On February 16, 2023, Commission Staff (“Staff”) provided the Company and all Intervenors with a proposed schedule. Staff proposed:  Customer Workshops o Pocatello, ID: March 15, 2023, at 11 am o Twin Falls, ID: March 15, 2023, at 6 pm o Boise, ID: March 21, 2023, at 6 pm  Staff Testimony Filing Date: April 26, 2023  Rebuttal Testimony: May 17, 2023  Public Customer Hearing(s): TBD  Technical Hearings: TBD DECISION MEMORANDUM 2 The Company and all Intervenors were notified of Staff’s proposed schedule and did not object to the proposed dates. STAFF RECOMMENDATION Staff recommends the Commission issue a Scheduling Order setting Customer Workshops, as described above, on March 15, 2023, and March 21, 2023; the Staff Testimony Filing deadline on April 26, 2023; and the Rebuttal Testimony deadline on May 17, 2023.
