SUBJECT: IN THE MATTER OF INTERMOUNTAIN GAS COMPANY’S
APPLICATION FOR DETERMINATION OF 2019 ENERGY EFFICIENCY
EXPENSES AS PRUDENTLY INCURRED; CASE NO. INT-G-20-06
On September 1, 2020, Intermountain Gas Company (“Company”) applied to the
Commission for an order designating expenses associated with its 2019 Energy Efficiency
Program (“EE Program”) as prudently incurred. The Company asked the Commission to find the
Company prudently incurred $2,803,346 in EE Program expenses during 2019. The Company
stated in its Application it does not plan to file for an adjustment to the Energy Efficiency Charge
(“EE Charge”) in 2020.1
On October 2, 2020, The Commission issued a Notice of Application. Order No. 34801.
The Notice also set an October 23, 2020 deadline for interested persons to intervene. Id. The Idaho
Conservation League petitioned to intervene, and the Commission granted its petition. Order No.
34804.
On December 7, 2020, the Company filed a supplement to its Application
(“Supplemental Application”), which the Company notes “does not replace, amend, or remove any
portion of the Original Application.” Supplemental Application at 2. The Supplemental
Application includes the results of the Company’s recent Evaluation, Measurement and
Verification (“EM&V”) study and proposed changes to the Company’s EE Program based on the
EM&V study’s results. Additionally, the Company proposes to revise its Residential Energy
Efficiency Rebate Program tariff consistent with its proposed changes to the EE Program.

Supplemental Application, Exhibit 9. The Company requests its proposed tariff changes become
effective March 1, 2021.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends the Commission issue a Notice of Modified Procedure, setting a
February 25, 2021 comment deadline and a March 11, 2021 reply comment deadline. Staff also
recommends the Commission suspend the Company’s March 1, 2021 proposed effective date for
its tariff until April 1, 2021.
COMMISSION DECISION
Does the Commission wish to:
1. Issue a Notice of Modified Procedure, setting a February 25, 2021 comment
deadline and a March 11, 2021 reply comment deadline?
2. Suspend the Company’s proposed effective date for its tariff until April 1, 2021,
pursuant to Idaho Code § 61-622(3)?
