Comment:According to the IntermountainGas Company website,cost of delivery charges "The cost of transportation,storage and distributionof natural gas includes the maintenance of pipelines,meters and other equipment."
These chargescurrently make up about 25-30%of my bill each month.Now they want an additional line item for coststhatshouldbeincludedinthiscostofdelivery?
I believe that maintenance costs are a variable cost,and should be part of operating the business.Giving Intermountainaseparatechargeformaintenanceisnotnecessary.
Of course,safety and the fact that "other states have approved this charge"as claimed in the filing is absurd.IfIntermountainneglectsmaintenanceanddamageiscaused,the will be negligent and will bear the legal costs associatedwiththatnegligence.This safety claim and reference to other states is a fear mongering distraction.
