SUBJECT: INTERMOUNTAIN GAS – 2016 PGA FILING, CASE NO. INT-G-16-03
On August 12, 2016, Intermountain Gas Company filed its annual Purchased Gas Cost
Adjustment (PGA) Application. If approved, the Application will decrease:
the Company’s annualized revenues by $17.2 million (7.11%); and
the average bill of: (1) residential customers who use natural gas for space
heating and water heating by $3.48/month (7.55%); (2) customers who use
gas for space heating only by $2.03/month (6.50%); and (3) commercial
customers by $14.23/month (7.34%).
The proposed changes would not affect the Company’s earnings. The Company asks that the
Commission process the Application by Modified Procedure, with the new rates to take effect
October 1, 2016. See Application at 2 and 9, and News Release and Customer Notice. Notably, the
Company also filed a general rate case requesting a rate increase of 4.06% contemporaneous with the
filing of this Application
STAFF RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends that the case be processed by Modified Procedure, with comments due
by September 15, 2016, and the Company’s reply, if any, due by September 20, 2016.
