RE:CENTURYTEL OF IDAHO ADVICE 03-5 TO REDUCE THE RATE FOR
CALL TRACE, EFFECTIVE MAY 31, 2003
CenturyTel of the Gem State filed this Tariff Advice in response to Staffs request that
the rate for Call Trace be reduced to the level of other Call Trace services in Idaho.
The rate for Call Trace will be reduced from a rate of$5.00 per-activation to a rate of
$1.00 per activation. This $1.00 rate is the rate that was deemed acceptable for US West In
Case No. USW-9l-7 based in part on Staffs assertion that the only purpose of Call Trace is to
offer protection from harassing, obscene or threatening phone calls. The rate was confirmed in
GTE-93-3 when the Commission ordered GTE to amend its proposed tariff to offer Automatic
Call Trace offered at $1.00 per activation as recommended by the Staff.
CenturyTel of Idaho has advised that there have been no Call Trace activations since the
service was introduced in the serving area.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends approval of this tariff advice, effective May 31 2003. Does the
