Boise, 10 83709 (208) 377-6000 BOISE, IDAHO - November 5, 2009 Intermountain Gas Company is requesting the Idaho Public Utilities Commission to approve new Residential and Small Commercial tariffs which would require natual gas-fired equipment installed for the purose of melting snow on sidewalks and driveways to receive interrptible service. A service that has increased in popularty over the past decade is the use of natual gas-fired snowmelt equipment, which can impact system pressures at times. Having the ability to interrpt the snowmelt load durng periods of high usage ensures Intermountain's ability to provide reliable service to its residential and small commercial customers' space and water heating needs. Intermountain is seeking to implement new Residential and Small Commercial Interrptible Snowmelt Rate Schedules to govern the use of all incremental snowmelt loads. Existing Residential and Small Commercial Snowmelt customers will have the option of electing the proposed interruptible rate schedules. This proposal is subject to public review and a decision by the Idaho Public Utilities Commission. A copy ofthe entire text ofthe proposal is available at the offices of both the Idaho Public Utilities Commission and the Company. Intermountain Gas Company, a subsidiary of MDU Resources Group, Inc., is a natual gas distribution company serving approximately 305,000 residential, commercial and industrial customers in 74 communities in southern Idaho.
