This is totally absurd for them to ask for a raise. I read where we were given a decrease in our rates for last year, Well i did not see any decrease in my rates if anything it went up a lot. Also the rate increase they want for people who have both gas heat and a gas water heater are discrimatory it punishes those who have both they don' t consider the number of people in the house hold like mine where it is just me now. I know when and if we do get a decrease it is only one sided at a set amount. It is very funny that a request for a rate increase is occuring right after another company bought them out they must think people are stupid. Idaho Power got a hike to pay for natural gas to power their power generators, thus causing extra demand for gas, and causing higher rates for nat. gas! WE ARE PAYING FOR THAT GAS TWICE! IS THAT FAIR TO THE PEOPLE? these hikes should be more thought out beyond the utility companies. I say no more hikes for at least 18 months!, and only if & when the economy improves! also , with new housing and businesses coming in, they are already getting more income every day.
