Comment description: 27.06 % increase? Are all Idahoans salaries increasing by even5%. . . no. My mother is 78 years old and is on a very limited income. Most of her SocialSecuri ty check goes for medications. Any increase at all will lead to her having to not
purchase medications and cut down on food costs. This increase is totally unacceptable.Thank you for your time.

Company: Intermountain Gas Co.mailing list yes no:
Comment description: The Idaho Association of Area Agencies on Aging must protest the
enormous rate increase proposed by the Intermountain Gas Company. There are 193, 421
indi victuals in the state who are 60 years of age or older according to the 2000 census.
Of those, 16.5% live in poverty. It is for that 16.5% and thousands of others that an
increase of this magnitude will thrust into poverty, that we base our protest. We are not
naive enough to believe that a rate increase will not take place, but 27% is overwhelming
to seniors on a fixed retirement income. Even with the new Medicare Prescription Orug
Program that will come on line January 1, 2006, there will still be seniors who will make
a decision each day whether to eat as needed or take the full compliment of theirmedications. They should not have to add a decision about the degree of warmth they
intend to live with into that process.
As you make your decision about the proposed increase, it
the seniors of Idaho, who have made this state what it is
consideration and a rate increase that is more reasonable
is our hope that the needs of
today, will be taken into
in nature will be granted.
Russell K. Spain, President
Idaho Association of Area Agencies on Aging

when is this going to stop," they are blaming this raise on the recent hurricane but they
asked for this raise before that even happen. A 73% increase in three years is outrageous, the older people of idaho can t afford these kind of increases that they are asking for. Please will you look at this raise long and hard before you decide, some people willprobably go cold this winter if they get this raise too. 1 am very concerned about theoutcome. Comment description: The Intermountain Gas Company is currently a profitable company inthe energy business, even though their financials were not attached to the filing forPublic Viewing. A rate increase of this magnitude is unwarranted by any measure inflation. The company should reduce costs and reduce its profit targets. All of us arereducing energy usage due to higher costs. Take note that the higher costs of Gasoline
have to date significantly reduced demand. We will soon be awash in gasoline, and crudeoil prices will fall dramatically, as usual. Natural Gas prices will as well. 00 not bein a hurry to approve such an excessive request. The Company is taking advantage of a
temporary market condition to substantially increase the profi tabili ty of IntermountainGas. Thank You for listening.

So I have to pay more for using less only to heat my home.do not charge base on the type of car I drive.
That is not fair. Gas station
And when I'm not using gas in the summer months they still get a small fee from me when not even using any gas. It not cost they anything for me to stay connected.
Times are changing and it time to charge the price schedule.

Comment description: We don t understand a 27.6% increase. This is exorbitant! What
operating and administrative costs are being taken at the company. If so, what are they?
Are large executive bonuses still being paid and are they included in a 27.6% increase. Aprivate company doesn t have the privilege of continually raising prices. They either
operate on the mnoney they have or go out of business. We on fixed incomes don t have theI uxury of requesting more money because costs go up. We have to continue to cut expenses
to make up the shortfall. When we lose our home we won t have to worry about keeping warm.

Comment=desc ipt on: ~at is the reason to increase natural gas prices in Idaho. Thisappears to a be a "band wagon " hike.
All services and commodities can not continue to rise in sharp increments. There is a
breaking point for the consumer. Auto fuel has drasticly lead the way. Wages arenfollowing.
Because people in some southern state had a maj or hurricane does not mean people in Idaho
should pay for it.
That disaster did not increase the wealth of people in Idaho.
Publize the legitimate reasons for the increase.

My wife and I can understand the request by Intermountain Gas to raise their rates based
on their increased costs, and always receive great service from them, but request the
Commission consider an incremental rate approval over a 12 month period rather than all at
once. If Intermountain supplier costs were reduced during that time, any previous increase
requests would be reduced accordingly. My wife is disabled, and we know of many in similar
circumstances torn between paying medical and medication costs, higher fuel costs, and
meeting daily caloric intake for mere physiological and psychological survival! Thanks foryour considerations.

I purchased an older home that needs new windows and doors. An increase in my monthly bill
