I don t see how the elderly could absorb such an increase. My husband and I both workfull time and with all the increases that are happening are household budget has increased
substancially more than our wages. Most elderly are on a fixed budget. My mother-in-lawdepends on Social Security only for her expenses and you know it isn t increasing by27.4%.
I would like to suggest that Intermtn Gas and other utili ties look at their operation andfind areas they could cut and stop asking for increases every few years, if not everyyear.
Please consider this request, and the request from other utili ties, with great sincerity.Times are tough and we need commissions like yours to help the average population.

Comment description: I oppose the rate hike in this matter. I am a state employee who
has received only 1 raise in income in the last 3 years and it was not even close to the
percentage that the gas company is asking for now. I have student loans to pay and a
mortgage payment among other things that also need to be paid. Give us a break!

Comment description: As a state employee I have not recevied any type of salary increase
in three years. Also with the rising fuel prices for vehicles I can t afford to pay
anymore than I already do for natural gas. I purchased a home with natural gas because it
is more efficient, it is turning out to not be efficient any longer with the rising
prices. A riase of over $17.00 a month would place a hardship not only on me but other
people who are barely making it now.
