Comment description: We heard on the news last night that the gas company wanted another
increase in the rates (Which would only cost the average household about $ 6.00 a month)
Wasn t the 33% percent they received last year enough, the older people are having a hard
time paying their bills right now. When is this going to stop. We believe that 33% increase
should cover anything in the for seeable future without another raise. Our paychecks
haven t seen a raise in quite a few years, let's be fair about this. This household say NO
on any more raises in the near future for Intermountain Gas Company. Case No. INT-G-04-
Transaction 10: 571237.

Subject: Gas rate hikes
I would like to come out against the rate hike that si being considered for Intermountain Gas Company.
Intermount Gas Company just got a 30 percent rate hike in this past year. Our bill for December 2002
went from $67 to $108 in December 2003 for less therms of gas. Now they want a higher rate hike. I ask
why.
Within the Canyon County area there are a lot of retired people on a fixed income who cannot afford the
rates that are not in place. I for one only got a 2 percent raise in my Social Security benefits for this year.
Where I work Monday thru Friday where we wrok with people on the Energy Assistance program, there
are several thousand people whose Social Security benefits are less that $600 per month and even with
the help that they get, they are barely struggling to keep up withe high utility bills that they have during
the winter months.
I agree with the population growth within Southwest Idaho has increased tremendously, but as with
other companies , they are not making their current customers pay for the expansion that they are going
through. If there is such a big increase of Intermountain gas customers , then why are they not making
those people pay for the expansion that they are creating, instead of making the present customers pay
for the cost of expansion that they are creating.
Being a person that has stock with Northwest Natural Gas and Pacific Power and Light Company I am
against the utilities that think that they should have a high profit in order to pay for high stock earnings.
Also why does the executives of Intermountain have to have a huge salary while so many people are
unemployed, and with many of them, their unemployment being exhausted because they are unable
find work.
