Possible Alternative: Providers will be allowed to combine the various surcharges into one surcharge
and could bill it on the monthly customer bill. This combined surcharge would include the assessment
for regulatory fees as outlined in Attachment D. The per Minute-of-Use Toll – MTS/WATS USF and
TRS surcharges would be eliminated. Business lines would have the same per month per line surcharge
as residential lines.

In comparison the current local 911 surcharge is $1.00 monthly per line.
1 For the USF and TRS, a surcharge is also assessed on per Minute-of-Use basis for Toll- MTS/WATs.
2 Some VoIP providers pay the various surcharges, even though they currently are not required to pay.
