I just got off the phone with Glenn, and he asked me to move it over to the case as a public comment. He is aware that his information will be part of the public record. "On February 21, 2023, Avista filed an application with the Idaho Public Utilities Commission to change Idaho electric and natural gas rates starting September, 2023 and then again in September, 2024 Avista is asking for an increase of their basic charge from $7.00 to $20.00 on Electric & Gas for a total of $40.00 per month per household, this is before any energy usage for a nearly 300% increase in a basic fee! And also a 20% increase in electricity and 3.6% increase in natural gas rates for residential service" While illegal immigrants get a free ride off of our tax dollars where the inflation rate for energy has exploded on the upside due to a massive expansion of our money supply as a result of Biden Administration policies to curtail sources of "fossil energy". Something is wrong about this current picture and believe that either willingly or without any sense, Avista has decided to upcharge residential rates where the less advantaged law abiding American Citizen will be harmed the most. As a utility commission, we hope that you are on the side of Northern Idaho Residents and not cave in to the corporate interests of Avista. Thank you and appreciate your comment form." ------ https://puc.intranet.idaho.gov/apps/intranet/Complaint [Opens the PUC Intranet application]
