Sirs;
I want to go on record that I strongly oppose the Avista Corporation's
proposed price hike for 2023 and 2024 of nearly 20%! As a customer
of Avista, I am deeply concerned about the financial burden this
increase would impose on myself and many others in the community.
Avista has stated that this increase is necessary to cover the costs of
infrastructure improvements and to maintain reliable service.
However, a 20% increase is simply too much for customers (especially
retired customers like me) to bear. Many of us Idahoans are already
struggling to make ends meet, and this increase would only
exacerbate those financial difficulties.
Furthermore, it is worth noting that Avista's proposed increase is
significantly higher than the rate of inflation. I also researched and
saw that Avista Net Profits were more in 2022 than the previous year.
A 20% increase over two years is unjustifiable, and I urge the Idaho
Public Utilities Commission to reject this proposal.

$500.00 gas/electric bills and was informed that they do not set their rates. Allowing then to con�nue to raise rates I is
negligence as it will create debt and homelessness, especially for the elderly trying to stay in their homes. Please do not

Comment: "This is a general concern for the applica�on from “Avista” to the “Idaho Public U�lity Commission” that
poses to increase u�lity costs come fall 2023-2024. Increasing u�lity rates would be the icing on the cake to members of
the local north Idaho communi�es. Infla�on, increase property taxes and now a hike in u�lity prices. “Avista” is having
no problem securing new customers to fulfill their quotas and pockets. The average home owner and tax payer on the
other hand, who live up here in this por�on or the state for similar reasons, are being placed between a rock and a hard
place. Please review the applica�on by “Avista” and remember the litle guy before passing any price increases for basic
