Idaho homeowners received huge property tax increases this year and many are struggling to stay in their homes. Please consider mitigation of these increases to spread them out over a longer term. I realize Avista needs to be reimbursed for their infrastructure improvements, but this increase may just be what causes many to lose their homes. Thank you for your consideration." ------ From:PUCWeb Notification To:Jan Noriyuki Subject:Notice: A comment was submitted to PUCWeb Date:Saturday, March 11, 2023 1:00:09 PM The following comment was submitted via PUCWeb: Name: Robert Minervini Submission Time: Mar 11 2023 12:59PMEmail: robertminervini13@gmail.com Telephone: 208-746-0243Address: 220 KARIN COURT LEWISTON, ID 83501 Name of Utility Company: Avista Case ID: AVU-E-23-02 Comment: "A rate increase might be in order, but 1/2 the increase sought by Avista would be more affordable for people on fixed income." ------ From:PUCWeb Notification To:Jan Noriyuki Subject:Notice: A comment was submitted to PUCWeb Date:Sunday, March 12, 2023 7:00:26 AM The following comment was submitted via PUCWeb: Name: Brian Rhoades Submission Time: Mar 12 2023 5:44AMEmail: bry88@moscow.com Telephone: 208-123-4567Address: 149 West Walnut Genesee, ID 83832 Name of Utility Company: Avista Case ID: AVU-E-23-01 Comment: "Avista is asking for a cost increase for Idaho customers that is WAY in excess of reasonable. A 20% increase over one year is essentially what they are asking, and that is just WAY to much of in increase in the time frame they are asking for it. In the past few years local residents have seen property tax increases of almost 30%. Adding a 20% Avista increase on top of that will put a lot of families on fixed incomes out of their homes. Please, please consider how such an extreme price increase will effect those on the lower end of the income scale. A nearly 20% price increase over one year is just a ridiculous increase and likely more than many customers will be able to accommodate. A rate increase of the magnitude Avista is asking for can and will put people out of their homes. It will be the last straw for some customers. The cost of living is going up too fast for those on fixed incomes to keep up with. " ------
