RE:ADVANCED TELCOM, INC. REQUEST TO CANCEL ITS
CERTIFICATE OF PUBLIC CONVENIENCE AND NECESSITY NO. 354
Advanced TelCom, Inc. filed a request dated September 4, 2002, to cancel its Certificate
of Public Convenience and Necessity No. 354. This Certificate was issued by Order No. 27879
on January 15, 1999, authorizing the Company to provide a fiber optic network and to provide
business and residential services using their own network and/or through resale.
The Company advises it has filed voluntary petitions for reorganization under Chapter
of the United States Bankruptcy Code and arranged for the transfer of some assets.
Consequently, the Company will no longer provide telecommunications services in Idaho after
approximately October 15 2002. The Company advises that there are no current customers in
Idaho.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends that Certificate No. 354 be withdrawn. Does the Commission agree?
