SUBJECT: IN THE MATTER OF AVISTA’S 2021 NATURAL GAS INTEGRATED
RESOURCE PLAN, CASE NO. AVU-G-21-02.

On March 31, 2021, Avista Corporation d/b/a/ Avista Utilities (“Company”) filed its
2021 Natural Gas Integrated Resource Plan (“IRP”). The 2021 IRP identifies a strategic natural
gas resource portfolio to meet customer demand requirements over the next 20 years. The
Company filed its IRP by the deadline set in Order No. 34697, which extended the Company’s
typical, August 31, 2020 filing deadline to April 1, 2021. See Order No. 34697.
On April 23, 2021, the Commission issued a Notice of Filing and Notice of Intervention
Deadline. Order No. 35021. No parties intervened.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends the Commission process this matter by Modified Procedure and
establish a July 29, 2021 comment deadline and an August 19, 2021 reply comment deadline. Staff
informally discussed the proposed schedule and procedure with the Company. The Company did
not object.
