HAMMOND JR. DEPUTY ATTORNEY GENERAL DATE: JUNE 14, 2021 SUBJECT: IN THE MATTER OF THE APPLICATION OF AVISTA CORPORATION DBA AVISTA UTILITIES FOR AUTHORITY TO INCREASE ITS RATES AND CHARGES FOR ELECTRIC AND NATURAL GAS SERVICE FOR ELECTRIC AND NATURAL GAS CUSTOMERS IN THE STATE OF IDAHO; CASE NOS. AVU-E-21-01 AND AVU-G-21-01. On April 23, 2021, the Commission issued a scheduling order for a settlement conference for the parties, public workshop, prefiled testimony deadline, rebuttal deadline, and a technical hearing date. See Order No. 35010. A proposed Stipulation and Settlement Agreement (“Stipulation”) has been reached by the parties in this case and will be filed with the Commission for its review and consideration. Staff requests that the Commission modify the schedule for this case that was previously set by Order No. 35010 in light of the proposed Stipulation. RECOMMENDATION The parties request that the Commission issue an Order that amends the scheduling order as follows: • Prefiled testimony in favor of the proposed settlement filed by July 19, 2021; and • Company prefiled rebuttal testimony, if necessary, filed by July 26, 2021. Staff recommends that all other events scheduled in Order No. 35010 shall remain the same, including that persons desiring to state a position on the Company’s Application or the Stipulation may file a written comment explaining why the person supports or opposes the Application and/or the Stipulation by the close of business on August 3, 2021.
